Works are well under way for the next edition of the Strummin’ concerts. The dates of the upcoming concerts have been announced. The 11th edition of Strummin’ will be taking place on the 14th and 15th September 2012, at Sir Temi Zammit Hall, University of Malta. The committee has also been busy preparing all the details before launching two major campaigns for this year’s show.
Here’s some insider information just for you! The theme for this year’s edition has been chosen, and we promise to give you more information soon. The songs have been set, and the stage is being designed. We’re also setting up a small studio to film videos for this website where you’ll be able to listen to some of our most talented friends perform. In the meantime, here’s more information about our major campaigns:
Every year we try our best to welcome old faces and new blood into the Strummin’ family, and it gives us great pleasure to see the family grow. Whether you’re a guitarist, a musician or simply want to be a volunteer, and help out in the running of the actual show, we encourage you to apply here to be part of something great. The deadline for applications for singers is April 22nd. Guitarists may apply until the first week of June.
The amount of friendships born during our concert, is our pride. We put up a great show, donate a large sum of money to a charity each year, and teach tens of people how to play guitar. However, our greatest achievement is always to bring together a large number of youths to work towards a common cause. And we manage every year. Try us!
The second project launched is that of the concert re-branding. This year we felt that the concert needed a visual overhaul. In the next couple of months, we will be working with a chosen designer to come up with a new visual identity for Strummin’. The new identity will be used for a number of years and you (yes you there!) can be that designer.
We don’t require you to be a professional to be our designer. If you are creative enough, we believe you can create something unique that can help us to shape our brand. Luckily for you, our marketing team will help you out if you need any technical help! The chosen one will be joining us at the concert together with 5 of his/her friends, taking with them a merchandise pack full of Strummin’ goodies. If you have something to show us apply here. Application deadline is April 25th, while the submission deadline for those who apply is May 5th.
