Akustika Music Energy – this weekend!

Get ready to feel the energy this weekend! Akustika are back with a bang with the seventh edition of their concerts, entitled Music Energy. The event is put up by ŻĦN Symphonik in collaboration with St James Cavalier and will be held this Friday June 1, Saturday June 2 and Sunday June 3. Akustika aims to provide a relaxing evening of acoustic music for all ages. As in previous editions, the band will perform pieces from different musical genres as well as original material, through which the band shows the beauty of each instrument, and how in today’s world of commercial music, the instruments are still valid in contemporary music.

The concert is organised under the auspice of Żgħażagħ Ħaddiema Nsara and the section Symphonik, which works to raise awareness of social issues through music and the arts.  Akustika is made up of Strummin’ singers Janice Debattista, Jean Claude Vancell, Isabel Camilleri, Strummin’ guitarist Malcolm Bonnici, pianist Martina Falzon, percussionist Luke Vella Clark, saxophonist Samuel Aquilina and Strummin’ music coordinator Joseph Axiak.

Expect music by Ed Sheeran, Adele, The Beatles, Queen, Gwen Stefani, and Alicia Keys among others.

The concert will be held in the St James Cavalier Music Room, Valletta. Performances start at 8 p.m. Tickets may be booked at St James Cavalier, by phone on 21 223 200 or online on www.sjcav.org. Students, children and senior citizens get a discount when they present their student card/senior card at the St James Cavalier booking office.
