Taking a break in between endless hours of rehearsals, Gianni Selvaggi met up with us at strumminartists.com to talk about his tastes in music, his future singing career as we draw closer to the concert. Gianni will be paying tribute to Kurt Cobain during Strummin’ Tribute to the Greats on the 14 and 15 September.

How did you get to know about Strummin’?
Friends who have been involved for a very long time as well as some who have only just joined the Strummin’ Family.
When did you first participate in Strummin’?
This is my first year.
What would you tell people who are interested in taking part in Strummin’ next year?
It is an experience that I’m really excited to be part of. A group of talented and fun-loving people that are very welcoming.
When did you first start singing?
When I was 9, in my Primary School choir. I started taking it more seriously as I turned 16/17.

Is there a local artist or band you look up to?
Are you involved in any other music-related projects?
Solo work mostly but I also collaborate with bands, DJs and other musicians. I am currently preparing for 2 other charity concerts: The Claire Baluci Concert (in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund) which is a week after Strummin’ [22nd September]; and Voices concerts in aid of multiple foundations, which will be held between the 3rd-7th and 10th-14th of October.
