Sarah’s sultry voice will be paying tribute to her idol, Amy Winehouse, during Strummin’ Tribute to the Greats on the 14 and 15 September
Occupation: I’m a student studying music and art. I passed my A’ levels and now I’m waiting eagerly to start University in October as a B.Ed music and art student 🙂
How did you get to know about Strummin’?
Through my boyfriend Dean – the bassist
When did you first participate in Strummin’?
This is my first time participating
What would you tell people who are interested in taking part in Strummin’ next year?
It’s very interesting and fun. For me it’s quite a new thing singing with so many guitarists and also playing with them during the rest of the songs. It’s a lot of fun. Just go for it and enjoy it!
When did you first start singing?
Since I can remember. I’ve always had a passion for music and my mum’s support was always present
Which band/artist/concert/festival would you most want to watch live?
Is there a local artist or band you look up to?
Yes there are quite a few artists I look up to like Amber and Petra
Are you involved in any other music-related projects?
Yes I am. I sing and play piano with the Junior College Orchestra and I have a trio band with Dean on the bass and Glen (Montanaro) as lead guitarist. We focus on jazz/pop/funk/soul music. I have been playing the piano for 10 years and I am also learning guitar through Strummin’ rehearsals
All-time favourite artist/band?
Current favourite song?
… there are quite a few but maybe if I had to choose one it would be “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” by Amy Winehouse
Current most-disliked song:
I like mainly most styles of music but if I had to choose it would be Baby by Justin Bieber
