The 12th edition of Strummin’, Strummin’ the Elements was held on the 11th and 12th October 2013 at Sir Temi Zammit Hall, University of Malta. The concert, held under the auspices of ŻĦN (Żgħażagħ Ħaddiema Nsara) was organised by the Strummin’ Concerts committee. The aim of Strummin’ is to collect money for a chosen charity, while offering a launching platform to up and coming musicians. This year, Strummin’ has decided to help Hospice Malta in its mission to provide and promote palliative care to people with cancer and terminal diseases. Over 80 guitarists, 30 singers, a 5-piece band, string quartet and brass section were on stage to entertain our audience in what has become a massive event in the Maltese musical calendar.
The theme chosen for the 2013 edition is Strummin’ the Elements. This year’s songs emphasised the great wonders of the earth as well the beauty of the forces of nature, hence the elements.
This year’s show was hosted by Pawlu Borg Bonaci and Luke Dalli … let’s just say, this dynamic duo had everyone in stitches within ten minutes of the show – that’s the Strummin’ guarantee!
